Burns loses lead to Rovanpera
Harri Rovanpera leads the Neste Rally Finland after a dramatic 12th stage - the classic Ouninpohja test - sent former leader Richard Burns tumbling to third following a heavy landing from a jump which robbed the Peugeot of power
"I took a jump flat-out, just the same as I have done every year I've been here," said a frustrated Burns. The extent of the damage remains unknown until the car returns to service in Jyvaskyla, but Peugeot team boss Corrado Provera says he is confident that the car will be able to continue.
"It seems that Richard's car landed heavily after a jump and that is what appears to have caused the damage," said Provera. "The important thing is that it's still a one-two-three and without another stage to complete I'm confident that Richard can get back here to service and fix it."
Rovanpera leads the rally by 15.2sec over his Peugeot team-mate Marcus Gronholm, with Burns now 1m10s off the lead - a deficit he will find difficult to overcome on the flat-out stages of the 'Finnish Grand Prix' without problems for the Flying Finns ahead...
