Araujo to take it easy in decider

Defending Production Car World Rally champion Armindo Araujo has admitted he will take a measured approach to this week's Rally GB as he seeks back-to-back titles

The Portuguese Mitsubishi driver arrives in Cardiff with an 18-point advantage over Patrik Flodin (Subaru) the only man who can challenge him for this year's P-WRC title.

Araujo said: "I think I can win the championship, but it will not be easy. I haven't driven on gravel since Portugal very early in this year, but I have tested on the wet roads and the dry, so I have a good idea of what's coming.

"Of course, with the lead we have, we're not going to be driving at 100 per cent, but at the moment we have won nothing."

Araujo has hinted that a second successive victory in the Group N series could prompt a move away from the championship for next year.

"We are looking at a new programme for next season, there are some good ideas, but at the moment I don't want to say more," he said.
