Mowlem to join Creation for Le Mans

GT specialist Johnny Mowlem has been given the chance to race a prototype in the Le Mans 24 Hours for the first time by the Creation AIM team

Mowlem, who races a Ferrari 430GT in the American Le Mans Series, has filled one of the two vacant seats in the LMP1 works Creation-AIM CA07.

He will join experienced endurance racer Marc Goossens and team regular Stuart Hall in the car.

Mowlem, who impressed at the wheel of a Zytek LMP1 car in two ALMS races in 2006, said: "I'm really excited about going to Le Mans in a prototype, but I'm under no illusions about how difficult it is going to be."

Creation team owner Mike Jankowski added: "We have gone for the safe option because it's important that we get to the finish at Le Mans.

"Everyone was impressed by the job Johnny did in the Zytek in America in 2006 and he has good Le Mans experience. Marc has done a lot of 24-hour races and is a true team player. We believe we have three sensible drivers who will also have good speed."

Mowlem and Goossens will get their first taste of the Creation in Sunday's Le Mans test day.

Jamie Campbell-Walter, who is recovering from back injuries sustained in a crash in qualifying for the Monza Le Mans Series race in April, is expected to attend the 24 Hours in an advisory capacity. He should be fit in time to race in the Nurburgring LMS round in August.
