Audi continues to lead the way in the 78th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours after an incident-filled 18th hour.
Romain Dumas has taken over driving duties in the #9 R15 plus TDI and continues to head an Audi 1-2 from the #8 R15 plus TDI, driven by Marcel Fassler.
Anthony Davidson had been charging back into contention in the #1 Peugeot 908 HDI, but received a warning for not respecting the track limits early in the 18th hour.
He later dived up the inside of the GT2 class-leading #64 Chevrolet Corvette at the Porsche Curves and, although it remains unclear whether Davidson made contact with Emmanuel Collard, the GT2 driver lost control and slammed backwards into the barriers - causing a safety car during the middle part of the hour.
Collard managed to limp back to the pits, but a long delay for extensive repairs to the rear of the car has handed the GT2 lead to Marc Lieb in the #77 Felbermayer Porsche.
The #50 Larbre Saleen continues to lead the way in GT1, while retirement for Julien Jousse in the #73 Chevrolet Corvette has promoted the #52 AMR Young Driver Aston Martin DB9 of Christoffer Nygaard into second.
A gearbox problem, which struck early in the 18th hour, continues to delay the #007 Lola Aston Martin in the pits, so Sam Hancock, in the #009 Lola Aston, now leads the unofficial race for petrol cars in sixth overall.
The Strakka Racing HPD ARX-01c of Danny Watts has moved up to ninth overall and continues to hold an LMP2 class advantage of more than two laps over David Brabham in the Highcroft Racing HPD.
