Practice underway at Le Mans
The first practice session for this year's Le Mans 24 Hours is underway with Peugeot leading the way in the first half hour
Today's session began on a damp circuit at 18:00 local time and will run until midnight.
None of the teams are up to full speed yet, with the quickest times around half a minute shy of the best set in last year's practice sessions, but each of the leading LMP1 cars has taken to the track.
The #8 Peugeot 908 HDi of Stephane Sarrazin, Franck Montagny and Sebastien Bourdais set the quickest lap of the first half hour, a 3m45.144s.
The #2 car of Mike Rockenfeller, Marco Werner and Lucas Luhr is quickest of the Audis so far, having lapped four seconds slower than the lead Peugeot.
The Pescarolo-run Peugeot 908 of Jean-Christophe Boullion, Simon Pagenaud and Benoit Treluyer is lapping on pace with the quickest works cars so far, while only one of the Aston Martin Racing cars has taken to the track so far, with Anthony Davidson setting a 3:56.766 on his second flying lap.
The Team Goh Porsche RS Spyder is the first of the LMP2 cars at this stage, with Seiji Ara 14th overall, while the JetAlliance Aston Martin and Virgo Motorsport Ferrari were first out of the blocks in GT1 and GT2 respectively.
