17h58m GT2 second-place man Jean Alesi has a scary moment in the Porsche Curves as he is passed by the #4 Peugeot. They narrowly avoid a repeat of the clash that has derailed the challenge of the #64 Corvette.
17h56m LMP2 leader Strakka Racing is up to 9th overall as Danny Watts presses on in the HPD car. David Brabham in the Highcroft entry is now around three laps further behind in 12th overall.
17h55m The leader pits and Romain Dumas will stay in the Audi #9 car as he takes on fuel only. He is quickly away again.
17h54m The chase is back on again for the #1 Peugeot after a few laps running at the same speed as the leading Audis. Davidson posts 3m21.328s - four seconds quicker than the second placed #8 and six seconds faster than the leading #9 car.
17h51m News from Corvette on the #64: "Doug Feehan reports that Manu Collard is alright after the accident. [Oliver] Gavin will take over once repairs are done within the next 5-8 minutes"
17h50m Nicolas Lapierre pits the #4 Oreca Peugeot from fifth position. No driver change and he rejoins the action, over two minutes behind the fourth placed Audi #7.
17h48m However, the #95 AF Corse Ferrari is within striking distance of the GT2 leader and a fight for class honours is back on while the #64 is still under repair.
17h47m The #77 Porsche is now firmly in control of GT2 and in 17th overall with Marc Lieb at the wheel.
17h45m At the front, the #9 Audi leads by one lap over the #8 car in second spot. Peugeot #1 is now shown as two laps back in third position - still with Anthony Davidson behind the wheel.
17h42m Jean de Pourtales is back underway in the #39 following that clash at the restart.
17h40m Also in the pits, work continues on the #007 Lola Aston Martin. That car has been grounded for the last half-an-hour but showing as in ninth place.
17h40m The #39 KSM Lola-Judd is punted into the gravel in the Dunlop complex by the Young Driver AMR entry.
17h39m The circuit is green again and there's an incident straight away.
17h37m Soheil Ayari hands over to Didier Andre in the #6 and he goes to the end of the pitlane to wait in line for the next available safety car queue.
17h36m Several cars are into the pits while the safety car is in control of the race. One of them is the #6 Oreca AIM entry in 11th place.
17h34m There is damage to the armco barrier at the Porsche curves and the safety crews will want to ensure that this is fixed before the race resumes.
17h34m Meanwhile, repairs continue in the #64 garage but that Corvette will take a while to straighten out after that heavy rear-end impact in the Porsche Curves.
17h32m A handful of ACO marshals are now brushing dirt and earth off the track and removing the debris that came off the #64 Corvette.
17h31m The reason for this latest safety car intervention is debris on the circuit following that clash between the third placed #1 Peugeot and the GT2 class leading #64 Corvette.
17h30m The Corvette squad are ripping the rear bodywork off the #64.
17h29m The #1 Peugeot is into the pits and Davidson remains in the car. There is no visible damage to the rear end of the Peugeot and Davidson is back out to resume the chase.
17h29m The #64 had a lead of around a lap and a half over the #77 Team Felbermayr-Proton Porsche, which now looks set to take the class lead in GT2.
17h27m The Corvette trails smoke from the tyres rubbing on the destroyed bodywork and this looks like a lengthy repair.
17h27m Emmanuel Collard has got the #64 rolling again but there is major damage to the rear end of the class leader.
17h26m The Corvette is in the grass after a heavy rear-end impact with the concrete wall.
17h26m Davidson emerged unscathed from the contact and is seemingly without damage on the circuit.
17h25m Davidson leaves absolutely no quarter to anyone and slices past the GT2 leading Corvette as immense speed.
17h25m Disaster for the #64 Corvette class leader after contact with Davidson's charging Peugeot in the Porsche Curves!
17h24m The Audi drivers are having to respond to the challenge from the #1 Peugeot. Both Romain Dumas and Marcel Faessler (before that stop) raised their game with 3m22s laps.
17h23m The #42 Strakka HPD continues in the LMP2 lead by over a lap from the similar Highcroft entry, which has just been in the pits for a routine stop.
17h22m Marcel Faessler brings the second placed #8 Audi into the pits. No driver change on this occasion and he is quickly back into the action.
17h20m Another lap and another stunning time from Anthony Davidson in the third placed Peugeot - 3m20.067s is four seconds quicker than the #8 Audi in second place and six seconds faster than the leader.
17h19m That #73 car was second in GT1 but looks to be in serious mechanical trouble with Julien Jousse at the controls.
17h18m The #73 Luc Alphand Aventures GT1 Corvette is crawling very slowly down the circuit on the approach to Indianapolis.
17h18m Anthony Davidson is driving like a man possessed as he chases down the gap to the two Audi cars up front. It's another 3m19.789s from the Briton. He is flying!
17h15m That lap is a full five seconds quicker than Marcel Faessler's 3m24s in second place in the #8 Audi.
17h15m But while the post mortem begins on the #2 car, Davidson sets the fastest lap of the race in the third placed #1 machine - 3m19.527s.
17h14m Immediately the mechanics jack the car up and wheel it into the garage. The door comes down and the investigation into the engine bay will take place in private.
