Emanuele Pirro pits the No.1 Audi for tyres and fuel.
The leader comes into the pits. The No.7 Peugeot has fresh tyres, fuel taken, no driver change on this occasion and Nicolas Minassian rejoins retaining the lead.
The No.8 team were rocking the car back and forwards, indicating that the transmission gremlins may have returned.

The autosport.com news team at the circuit tell us that the No.45 Embassy Racing car that is running in 33rd in overall classification, has been given a penalty as they were running on the circuit without the lights on.
The fourth-placed No.3 Audi comes into the pits. The tyres are changed, fuel has gone in, no driver change on this occasion and Lucas Luhr rejoins the fight.

The Darren Turner Aston has overtaken the Ron Fellows Corvette somewhere around the circuit.
The 009 regains the lead in GT1 and leads the No.63 by three seconds.

In the GT1 category, we have a race for the lead in progress. Ron Fellows still holds first position in the No.64 Corvette, but under the safety car the 009 Aston Martin had closed up right behind it. The gap between the pair is one second. Darren Turner is at the wheel of the 009 currently.
The safety car did not close Allan McNish up on the leader as the No.2 Audi was behind the opposite pace car to the No.7 Peugeot.
The Peugeot No.7 answers the call and leads the field back to green flag racing. It leads by 2 minutes 02 seconds over the No.2 Audi in second place, who in turn is a full lap ahead of the No.9 Peugeot in third.
The safety cars pull in and we are racing once again in Le Mans.

We are nearing the end of the only safety car period so far in the race. The lights on the roof of the controlling vehicle change to green, meaning that we should be under racing conditions again soon.
Work continues on the No.11 Dome Judd. The car is now up on jack stands as the team continue to investigate the huge loss of oil that forced the car in to the garage.
The LMGT2 leader, No.82 with Mika Salo at the wheel, is taking advantage of the safety car to have the front brakes serviced on the Ferrari. He is away once again but gets held at the pit exit lights while the pack of cars stream by.
The two safety cars that are controlling the field remain on track. Meantime the crashed Courage No.6 has been removed from harms' way and the race should resume soon.

Further CCTV footage from the circuit's security cameras show the No.6 Courage now being lifted away from the scene of the crash at the Porsche curves.
The No.5 has is back out of the garage and heads off in to the night to find a snake of cars behind a safety car.

Fassler was carried into the ambulance on a stretcher and was seen to be moving, but visibly very shaken.

In among the oil drama affecting the Dome and Peugeot cars, when the No.7 leading Peugeot pitted there was a driver change. Nicolas Minassian is now piloting the lead car after taking over from Marc Gene.
