The autosport.com team at Le Mans tell us that the safety car will pit at the end of this lap.
The safety cars pull in and we are racing once again in Le Mans.
The Peugeot No.7 answers the call and leads the field back to green flag racing. It leads by 2 minutes 02 seconds over the No.2 Audi in second place, who in turn is a full lap ahead of the No.9 Peugeot in third.
The safety car did not close Allan McNish up on the leader as the No.2 Audi was behind the opposite pace car to the No.7 Peugeot.
In the GT1 category, we have a race for the lead in progress. Ron Fellows still holds first position in the No.64 Corvette, but under the safety car the 009 Aston Martin had closed up right behind it. The gap between the pair is one second. Darren Turner is at the wheel of the 009 currently.

Minassian sets a 3:24.332 to lead by just over two minutes from McNish in the best of the Audis.

In LMP2, Jeroen Bleekemolen in the Van Merksteijn RS Spyder is now around one lap ahead of Team Essex and runs tenth overall.
The No.11 Dome has been out for an exploratory lap after lengthy repairs. They have come back in to the pits and have been wheeled back for another spell in the garage.

The No.8 Peugeot, previously in trouble with the gearbox, is turned to push back in to the garage.
The No.8 team were rocking the car back and forwards, indicating that the transmission gremlins may have returned.
The leader comes into the pits. The No.7 Peugeot has fresh tyres, fuel taken, no driver change on this occasion and Nicolas Minassian rejoins retaining the lead.

With almost all cars stopping under the safety car, the pit stops are now coming in tightly-bunched groups.
Jeroen Bleekemolen continues to lead in LMP2, almost three minutes ahead of the Team Essex car, now driven by Sascha Maassen.

The No.10 Lola Aston Martin is back in the garage once again. After running well since the last round of repairs, the team are once again at work with bodywork off both front and rear.
Up front Nicolas Minassian continues to lead the race in the No.7 Peugeot. He has a 2 minute 20 second lead over the No.2 Audi driven by Allan Mcnish.

We hear that the ACO who run the race expect no rain to occur until at least 09:00 local time. It is 01:42 at the moment. They go on to say that any rain in the morning will be in the form of isolated showers, and that the end of the race will be dry.
