Information
It may seem as if this has been a particularly brutal Le Mans for attrition, but actually we've only had nine official retirements so far - it's just that three of them have been LMP1s.
Driver Change
Panciatici brings the #35 Signatech ORECA in from fourth in class with Negrao taking over.
LMP2
That gap for the lead of LMP2 is coming down now though! Piquet has closed to within 19s of class leader - and second overall - Tung.
GTE PRO
Daniel Serra bangs in a 3m51.127s lap - the fastest of the race - in the #97 Aston that was stymied by that last safety car period. Then he goes quicker still: 3m50.950s!

LMP2
The answer is yes! Tung maintains a 22s gap over Piquet.
Pit stop
The #38 Jackie Chan DC ORECA has just stopped again. Will it emerge still ahead of the Rebellions?
LMP1
Just because Jani's lead is 11 laps, it doesn't mean this is done and dusted! There are still eight hours for LMP1 woes to strike.
Pit stop
Bernhard has just pitted from 10th overall in the second Porsche. He's still a couple of laps behind the next batch of LMP2 runners.

LMP2
We've just had a change for fifth in LMP2 with the #32 United Autosports Ligier of Albuquerque passing the #24 Manor of Graves.
LMP1
If you are waking up and wondering why LMP1 is not being mentioned very often there's quite a simple reason: not a lot is happening! The #1 Porsche of Jani is leading by 11 laps and every other LMP1 car has either retired or experienced major technical trouble. It is still not beyond possibility that an LMP2 car could win this race overall if anything goes wrong for the #1 machine.
Pit stop
The leader has now stopped too with Jani making a brief pit visit.
Pit stop
Piquet has now pitted from third overall in the #13 Rebellion ORECA but retains the place.
Pit stop
Buemi has just made a quick visit to the pits in the #8 Toyota.
GTE PRO
Notwithstanding the presence of the race leader behind them, Pilet has just passed Calado for second in GTE Pro at the second chicane on the Mulsanne.
LMP1
Worrying moments for Jani there as he came up on the battle for second in GTE Pro - who were watching each other rather than him.
GTE PRO
The timing of those slow zones has destroyed Sorensen's lead in the #95 Aston - he's now less than 20s ahead of Calado's #51 Ferrari and Pilet's #91 Porsche. After his pitstop, Magnussen has filtered out into sixth behind Rigon and Priaulx.
Green flag
The track is now clear once again.
GTE PRO
Pitstop for Magnussen in the #63 Corvette - that elevates Pilet's #91 Porsche to third in class, 1.1s behind Calado's Ferrari.
Slow Zone
There's a slow zone now as that Ferrari is recovered.
LMP1
Buemi is continuing to creep up the overall leaderboard. The #8 Toyota is now up to 20th.
Yellow flag
Yellow flags at Indianapolis again as Krohn rotates the #83 Ferrari into the gravel trap by the escape road. He was running eighth in GTE Am but has just lost that to Barker's #86 Porsche - with more to come.
Pit stop
Tung has just pitted from the LMP2 lead but because of the slow zone confusion, he has been able to maintain the lead. Piquet in the #13 Rebellion is still 13s behind.
GTE PRO
One of the principal casualties of that last safety car period was the #97 Aston Martin, currently driven by Daniel Serra. It's now seventh in class and has the #68 Ford of Muller closing in. Aston's main issue is that it can only double-stint its tyres, while the Michelin runners can triple-stint theirs.
Green flag
The slow zone has cleared now and the track is fully green again.
LMP2
This latest slow zone has been massively costly for third-placed Piquet in the #13 Rebellion ORECA. He has dropped a further minute behind LMP2 leader Tung.
LMP2
There is only very light damage to the front of the #40 ORECA after that off so it should be able to continue now it's been removed from the barrier.
LMP2
The #40 car was sixth in LMP2 before that off but it's not there any more.
Slow Zone
We've now got a slow zone while that car is recovered.
Crash
It's the #40 Graff ORECA that is the car off in the hands of Allen - it's into the barriers.
Yellow flag
We've got a yellow at Indianapolis.
GTE PRO
Once again the safety car has dictated the shape of the GTE Pro battle. Pilet has dropped right into the battle for what is now second, a minute and a half behind the leading #95 Aston of Sorensen. Calado is at the head of the train in the #51 Ferrari, with Magnussen 1.5s behind in the #63 Corvette, and Pilet is now just behind him. Rigon is on a charge in the #71 Ferrari and has just gone by the #67 Ford of Priaulx, making Pilet - 2.7s up the road - his next target.
LMP1
Comfortably the fastest car on the track at the moment is Buemi in the #8 Toyota, with a 3m27.082s last time around. Once again the Japnaese manufacturer is left thinking what might have been.
Pit stop
Bernhard has just pitted in the #2 Porsche, which is 10th overall currently.
As we now approach the two-thirds distance mark, the sun has risen over Le Mans and daylight is restored.
Driver Change
Lietz pits the #91 Porsche and hands over to Pilet.
LMP2
Tung is flying at the moment and has just set the best lap of the race for the #38 car with a 3m28.632s.
Pit stop
Piquet has now pitted in the #13 Rebellion handing the LMP2 class lead and second overall back to Tung in the #38 Jackie Chan DC ORECA.
GTE PRO
Sorensen has snatched the class lead back from Lietz on the restart, so the #95 Aston is back in the lead of GTE Pro. Lietz is already 1.9s down in the #91 Porsche.
