Hanson is informed of van Uitert's lap time, a 3m29.6s. "F***ing hell" he replies... Hanson is only just in the 3m31s.
Van Uitert is reeling in Hanson for the P2 lead. Gap is now under 5s.
The track is ramping up, Lopez bangs in 3m20.838s in response!
A 3m21.382s is the quickest lap we've seen for a while, set by leader Nakajima in Toyota #8.
And now there's more P2 action, as Hanson is suddenly 10s ahead of van Uitert, who did a 4m26s lap. Most strange.
Da Costa confirms JOTA made an unscheduled pitstop, which is why the #38 has fallen over 90s behind the United cars.
After that round of pitstops, the battle for United supremacy is led by the #32 of van Uitert, 42s ahead of Hanson in the #22. Davidson is back in the #38 JOTA car in third.
Dalla Lana hands over the #98 Aston to Ross Gunn, who will be eager to gain some ground on the TF Sport car. Riccardo Pera also brings in the #77 Porsche, which briefly took second in class.
It's all fairly static in the GTE Pro battle right now. Serra not really making any ground on Martin, the gap between the pair is still 16s. A reminder that those two cars are the only cars on the lead lap in class.
"Jesus Christ!" shouts Albuquerque when told of the 48 second gap to the sister United car. He's not so grumpy when informed that's how much he was ahead, not behind! He pits, to hand over to Hanson, and get that smeared windscreen cleaned.
Albuquerque is soldiering on within 6s of the P2 lead despite a windscreen that is smeared with oil. And now he's in the lead, as van Uitert pits the leading #32.
Daniel Serra has taken over the #51 Ferrari, and resumes 16s down on Martin's Aston.
Deletraz pits the #3 Rebellion and gets a new nose section.
Pier Guidi is in from the lead of Pro in the #51 Ferrari.
A spin for James Allen in the #39 at the second chicane. A shame, after he drove such a stellar stint early on.
Adam pits the GTE Am-leading TF Sport Aston, which now has Charlie Eastwood aboard.
Martin pits the class-leading GTE Pro Aston, and it looks like AF Corse is also gearing up for a stop.
More drama for the #62 Red River Sport Ferrari, which is trundling along with what appears to be a right-rear puncture.
Shout out for the all-female-crewed Richard Mille Racing Oreca, which is running a steady 10th in class, now with Sophia Floersch at the wheel. The German, best known for her F3 exploits, only made her LMP2 debut in the previous ELMS race at Paul Ricard.
Albuquerque didn't stay in the lead for long, as Job van Uitert repassed him to reclaim the P2 lead. Now Albuquerque is complaining of his windscreen being coated in oil!
The #8 Toyota, by our estimations, is about 13s away from going up a second lap. The #3 Rebellion, which is three laps down, pits from third.
The United duo pit together, and the #22 rockets out of the pits ahead of the #32 to take the class lead.
Jonny Adam is almost two minutes clear of Paul Dalla Lana in the GTE Am lead battle now, if you can still call it a battle. Superb effort from the Scotsman.
Lopez pits the much-delayed #7 Toyota, and is swiftly on his way again.
Nato pits the #1 Rebellion. After a stuttering getaway, he gets away.
Vergne hands #26 off to Rusinov, who was behind the wheel when it encountered those pesky electrical gremlins earlier in the night.
The much-delayed #26 G-Drive entry has caught the #31 Panis Racing entry for fourth place. Well, it had but then dived into the pits.
And Martin is ahead, passing Pier Guidi out of sight of the cameras which appeared to get confused about which cars they should be following.
Nakajima dips into the 3m21s bracket – only just, but it counts.
A great lap from Martin, and the GTE Pro lead is down to under two seconds!
Martin has halved the gap to Pier Guidi as the Aston v Ferrari battle continues to rage. The #51 car has five seconds in hand now.
With nine and a half hours to go, the closest battle on track is between the #42 Cool Racing and #27 DragonSpeed, and Hanley forces Borga into a mistake at Arnage and grabs seventh.
Now Dalla Lana comes in from second. The third-placed car, the #77 Dempsey-Proton Porsche, is a lap down on the two leaders.
Meanwhile, Adam passes Dalla Lana on the run to Indianapolis to retake the lead in GTE Am - he's effectively a pitstop ahead.
The #62 Ferrari is back out, fresh with a shiny new left-hand side door. Remember that the number lighting panels have to be functional at all times, which is almost certainly the reason that door replacement was deemed necessary.
