More misery for the #29 Racing Team Nederland as the car is wheeled back into the garage. They are currently P16 in class but it simply hasn't been their race in 2020. It turns out to be a short pause in the garage as Nyck de Vries heads out on track once more.
Top five in GTE Pro as it stands.

1. #97 Aston - Lynn / Martin / Tincknell
2. #51 AF Corse Ferrari - Pier Guidi / Calado / Serra +54s
3. #95 Aston - Thiim, Sorensen, Westbrook +2 laps
4. #71 AF Corse Ferrari - Rigon, Molina, Bird +4 laps
5. #82 Risi Competizione Ferrari - Pla, Bourdais, Gounon +7 laps
Dumas has just set the fastest lap of the race by the #3 Rebellion with a 3m22.185s in response to the gap – currently at 26 seconds – being closed by Menezes in the sister #1 car.
Martin has replaced Lynn in the GTE Pro class leading #97 Aston. Pier Guidi takes the lead in the #51 Ferrari, but he'll also need to visit the pits shortly.
Antonio Felix da Costa is in the #38 JOTA, taking over from Gonzalez, with a gap of 1m50s to bridge to catch Albuquerque in the leading #22 United Autosports.
Perrodo brings in the #83 AF Corse entry, which was running second in the GTE Am class behind the runaway race leading #90 TF Sport car - with Adam currently at the wheel.
Both Rebellion cars pit on the same lap which sees the two cars remain second (#3) and third (#1) respectively which would be a super showing. If, and it is a massive if which doesn’t look likely, the #8 Toyota hits significant trouble it could get even better for Rebellion.
Da Costa isn't matching fellow countryman Albuquerque's pace in the LMP2 battle. The Michelins on the United ORECA had an edge over Jota's Goodyears yesterday afternoon. Now the temperatures are rising, it looks like that advantage is being restored.
Adam brings the #90 TF Sport entry to the pits for its 20th pistop of the race. It still has a lap in hand over the second-place #83 AF Corse entry which is rapidly losing time to the third-place running #77 Dempsey Proton Porsche.
Pier Guidi pits the #51 AF Corse Ferrari and allows Martin in the #97 Aston to resume in the lead of GTE Pro. Further down the order, rising GT star Gounon is setting personal best lap times in the #82 Risi Competizione entry which lost time earlier in the race with a drive-through penalty and a couple of off-track excursions. It sits fifth ahead of the two factory Porsche cars, but seven laps down on the leading car.
Albuquerque pits in the LMP2 leading #22 United Autosports on schedule and once again is joined by the #26 G-Drive running one lap down in third place.
Laurent also pits in the #36 Signatech Alpine Elf car running in fifth place in class and three laps off the leaders. Had it not been for its issues in the opening hour, the team would have definitely been in the fight at the front of the class. Ifs and buts though.
Pera in the #77 Dempsey Proton Porsche is rapidly eroding the deficit to the #83 AF Corse Ferrari, which is running in second place in GTE Am. Just under seven seconds separates them, but Pera was 4.5s quicker than Perrodo in the #83 on that last lap.
Having had a little bit of sleep, Newbold and I (JBL) are back to take it to the end. Big thanks to Haydn and Josh for doing the early morning, they're off to presumably get a well-earned coffee.
Four hours to go - how are things looking? Well, there isn't much of an LMP1 battle to speak of - the big question there is whether the delayed #7 car can get back to the podium, but it is still two laps behind the Rebellion pair that occupy second and third.
JOTA's da Costa had just come in (and out) for a stop. He keeps second in class, some way ahead of that #26 G-Drive car of Vergne. Last time we were on, that G-Drive had suffered all kinds of issues and Rusinov stopped a few times on-track, which the team was able to fix relatively swiftly.
On-screen now is the battle for second in GTE Am - Perrodo is the am in the #83 Ferrari and coming under huge pressure from debutante Riccardo Pera, one of Porsche's menagerie of junior drivers. Looks a question of when, rather than if.
Another fastest race lap for the #3 Rebellion from Dumas, a 3m21.8s, but Menezes is still making progress towards him in the in-house battle for second.
Sure enough, Pera takes the place. In truth, Perrodo made it a bit easy for him - he was distracted by Horst Felbermayr Jr ahead running deep at the second Mulsanne chicane and followed suit, allowing Pera to blast past on exit.
And we will get a battle for second at this rate - the #1 is just 12s behind the #3 car. Whether it'll be of much substance given different strategies, we don't know, just as long as they don't take each other off...
Shout-out to the #28 IDEC Sport team, with Richard Bradley currently driving. The team started from the pitlane after being unable to qualify, but is currently seventh in class and is about 2 minutes behind Negrao in the #36 Signatech Alpine.
There's Alex Brundle jumping into the #32 car, taking over from Will Owen. An earlier oil leak contrived to take the car out of contention overnight - it had just been passed for the lead when we were last on.
Things are looking good for the #97 Aston at the moment. Maxime Martin's lead over Alessandro Pier Guidi currently stands at a healthy 47s.
Dumas brings the #3 musketeer into the pits, which will bump the #1 up to second place. Meanwhile, the #1 unlaps itself - it's now just four laps behind the #8.
Pera has just pitted the second-placed GTE Am machine, which remains a lap down on the class-leading TF Sport Aston.
Now in comes Thiim in the #95 Aston that has been third in GTE Pro ever since Sam Bird's #71 Ferrari pitted in strife in the early hours of this morning. It's been a steady run for the 'Dane Train', which hasn't really had the pace to match the top two.
The #8 re-laps the #1, an interesting game of cat-and-mouse here. The #1 elects to pit anyway, ending that little battle, which will bring the #3 back ahead.
Having been given a few laps temporary respite after Pera - who has since pitted - got through, Perrodo will now face another Porsche challenge to his second place with Cairoli's #56 Project 1 machine now looming in his mirrors.
Leader Brendon Hartley comes in for a new drinks bottle and a glug of fuel. Nearby, the two Rebellions are nearly line astern, after Menezes clears a Ferrari and heads in pursuit of Dumas.
Perrodo now pits the #83 Ferrari, with factory driver Nielsen taking over.
Now the GTE Pro leader comes in. Maxime Martin's #97 Aston gets the attention of the AMR mechanics, who set to work removing detritus from the splitter. Not due to an off, but just the sheer build-up of rubber and debris on the track.
LMP2 leader Albuquerque's in for a stop, taking on board some fuel. The G-Drive also makes a stop, as Vergne lets Mikkel Jensen take over.
Ferrari enjoying some glory laps back in the lead of GTE Pro, Pier Guidi 20s ahead of Martin, but he is of course due a stop soon.
Kobayashi comes in for fuel too, still fourth in class after that lengthy spell in the pits at half-distance owing to turbo issues.
First and second in GTE Am both pit now, Adam's #90 TF Sport Aston one lap ahead of Cairoli's #56 Project 1 Porsche.
Salih Yoluc now back aboard the #90 TF Aston. The Turkish driver has done a lot of racing in recent years - as well as contending for the WEC Am title, he's also won the Pro-Am class at the Spa 24 Hours and has won two International GT Open races with Eastwood this year.
Now Pier Guidi relinquishes the lead again to the #97 Aston by coming into the pits, with two-time Le Mans class winner (once with Aston, once with Ferrari) Serra taking over on a fresh set of boots.
