Priaulx to partner Lowndes at Surfers
Three-time WTCC champion Andy Priaulx will team up with V8 Supercar driver Craig Lowndes for the Surfers Paradise enduro later this month
The British driver will be sharing the Team Vodafone Holden Commodore with the triple V8 Supercar champion in the event on 22-24 October.
"Craig is my dream team-mate for this event," said Priaulx. "I know from my previous races in the V8s it is great to be teamed with someone with experience and I certainly have this with Craig.
"There is nothing he hasn't won in Australia and I am a bit envious he has been on the top step of the podium at the Bathurst 1000 no less than four times. This is one of the events that I would still like to add to the list of events I have won."
Priaulx is one of 17 drivers who will join the event alongside the V8 Supercar regulars.
The list of invited drivers includes two-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon, as well as IndyCar rivals Dario Franchitti and Will Power.
Jacques Villeneuve, Sebastien Bourdais, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Mika Salo, Gianni Morbidelli and David Brabham will also be taking part in the 600km race.
"I would love to win as there are some pretty serious contenders out there," added Priaulx. "I am delighted I shall be seeing my mate Jacques Villeneuve again, but I suppose I have to say there is some national pride at stake with Dario Franchitti.
"I am sure both of us would love to not only win the event but also be the top Brit at the end of the 600 kilometres."
