Talladega: 'Little E' back on top
Dale Earnhardt Jr ended Chevrolet's winless streak at the Talladega superspeedway in a race that was marred by a 24-car pile-up
'Little E' hit the front following the pile-up and he was chased by Dale Jarrett and team-mate Michael Waltrip.
A final caution period followed with 10 laps to run when Mark Martin pulled up. Then when Tony Stewart's Pontiac leaked oil on to the track, the red flag came out and the field was parked on the circuit as officials cleared it up.
Then followed a four-lap sprint to the flag, with Earnhardt Jr just holding off Waltrip to the line.
Of the 24 cars that crashed in the pile-up, Elliott Sadler's took the biggest hit. He was full of praise for the Head and Neck Safety Device (HANS) that helped him avoid injury.
