Sadler confirmed at Evernham
Evernham motorsports have made the much anticipated signing of Elliott Sadler for next season, but the driver will start working with the team immediately
Sadler has been rumoured to be on his way to Evernham after announcing he would leave Robert Yates Racing at the end of the year.
However, with boss Ray Evernham publicly falling out with the number 19 car's previous incumbent Jeremy Mayfield, the team have reached a deal with RYR to secure Sadler an early release to start with the team from this weekend's race at Michigan.
The exact details of the deal were not announced, but Sadler has signed a 'multi-year' contract.
"So much of the success of a team depends on having the right blend of chemistry and communications," team boss Evernham said.
"Elliott will be a great fit with our team right away and will bring the competitive drive and the ability to communicate with the team what the Dodge Charger needs to perform at its best. He's the key that will place this team firmly on the path to success."
Busch race winner David Gilliland tested Sadler's former RYR car at Kentucky this week, and is expected to replace him from Michigan this weekend.
