Kahne takes another win from pole

Kasey Kahne has taken his third Nextel Cup career win at Texas Motor Speedway today - and the third time he wins after starting the race from pole position

Remarkably, the 26-year-old is also the first driver ever to win from pole at the Texas oval. Kahne is the 11th Nextel Cup winner at the circuit, from eleven starts. All prior winners took part in today's race.

This was Kahne's second win of the season, putting him in third place and just 46 points behind Cup leader Jimmie Johnson.

Johnson was able to maintain his points lead after finishing 11th, although is now only 15 points ahead of Matt Kenseth, who finished the race in second place.

Third place went to Tony Stewart, who battled with Kahne in the closing stages of the race but says the Dodge driver, who celebrates his birthday tomorrow, thoroughly deserved his win.

"Awesome race, it was so much fun racing Kasey, and I'm glad he won," Stewart said. "They did an awesome job, we had nothing for them at the end."
