Harvick dominates in Busch

Kevin Harvick scored his third Busch Series victory at Richmond last night, leading a 1-2 result for Richard Childress Racing on the day when he announced a three-year extension to his contract with the team

Harvick, who ended speculations about his future earlier in the day by announce he will continue racing for his current team until 2009, took his 20th Busch career win, also extending his points lead in the championship.

He finished ahead of teammate Jeff Burton in a race that was initially delayed by over an hour due to rain, and then delayed again for over an hour due to red flags.

Harvick has won three of the last four Busch races, and with a second place at Talladega last week, the 30-year-old said it was the best streak of his career.

"This is really awesome," he declared in victory lane. "What a great day for Richard Childress Racing."

Once again the race was dominated by the Nextel Cup regular drivers, with Harvick and Burton followed across the finish line by Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Ryan Newman, Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch.

Clint Bowyer, who currently lies second in the points standing, came in seventh.
