2001 Daytona 500 starting grid
The grid for Sunday's Daytona 500 is finally set after Thursday's Gatorade Twin 125-mile Qualifying races.
After taking the front row in last Saturday's Bud Pole Qualifying, it gets even better for Winston Cup returnee Dodge: 20 years after last officially competing in the NASCAR Winston Cup, Intrepid R/Ts will start from the top three slots after Sterling Marlin's victory in the first 'Twin'.
Chevrolet takes places four to seven, with Fords in the eighth and ninth places and Ward Burton's Dodge making it four of the DaimlerChrysler marque's entries in the top 10.
The 43-car grid is made up in the following way:
Top two times from Saturday's Bud Pole Qualifying.
Top 15 finishers from each 'Twin', not including the top two from Bud Pole Qualifying.
Overall fastest speeds from Saturday and Monday qualifying for cars not in from 'Twins'.
Provisionals based on 2000 car owner points and for previous Winston Cup Champions who have not qualified from 'Twins' or on qualifying speed.
