Carlin to run Team South Korea car
Carlin Motorsport will run South Korea's A1GP team next season, as well as taking on a wider programme to help develop young drivers in the nation
South Korea is joining A1GP for the first time, but Carlin have previous experience in the series having run the Portuguese, Japanese, and Lebanese entries in the past.
The team's drivers have been confirmed as 25-year-old Hwang Jin-Woo, who races in the Japanese Super GT series, and 18-year-old Formula Renault racer Sung-Hak Mun.
Team South Korea seat holder Joshua Kim believes Carlin will help to develop motorsport throughout the nation.
"Our first season will be a tough learning curve but we hope to be able to represent Korea to the best of the team's abliities," he said. "Carlin have the resources to help us develop motorsport within Korea and we're looking into a number of projects for the future.
"There is a lot of hard work to do before the first race of the season, and we look forward to making further announcements soon."
Carlin director Martin Stone added: "We're delighted to be back in the series at such an exciting time and we're very proud that Mr Kim has chosen Carlin to take the team through their first season of racing in what will hopefully be a long and successful partnership.
"We look forward to working together on some exciting projects which we will announce in due course."
