Cantelli set to replace Alcaraz
Claudio Cantelli is set to replace fellow rookie Aleix Alcaraz at RC Motorsport for the remainder of the Formula Renault 3.5 season from the Hungaroring this weekend
Brazilian Cantelli competed for Ultimate-Signature until the third round at Monaco, before being dropped in favour of Esteban Guerrieri.
The move is RC's second driver change of the year after Borja Garcia was forced onto the sidelines with sponsorship difficulties, making way for British Formula Renault champion Duncan Tappy.
"It is really difficult for me to talk about what has happened this year in regard to the drivers, they can destroy a team," said team manager Cristiano Giardina.
"We are now last in the teams' championship, and from where we are, a podium in the second half of the season would feel like a victory.
"I have to say that I have a good feeling about Duncan Tappy. I only worked with him at Silverstone, but I think he can make good progress."
Alcaraz is in negotiation with Pons Racing to continue in the championship.
