Ex-Red Bull F1 man Christian Klien back to Superstars for Brno

Former Red Bull and Jaguar Formula 1 driver Christian Klien will return to the Superstars International Series at Brno next weekend in a Scuderia Giudici-run BMW M3

The 30-year-old Austrian collected a Superstars win on his debut weekend in the series at the Hungaroring last year in a Swiss Team Maserati Quattroporte, and is aiming to run at the front of the field again in the Czech Republic.

Klien said: "Brno is a very technical track and looks pretty suited to the BMW.

"I know the car's potential and the team's professionalism because last year at the Hungaroring I had a great battle with Norbert Michelisz, who was in the same M3 I'll be driving this time.

"I'm going to try and establish myself at the top of the pack but it won't be easy. There are many top contenders and the competition is quite tight."

Klien, who started 49 grands prix, has raced only sporadically since his last Superstars appearance, competing in V8 Supercars in Australia and V8 SuperTourers in New Zealand last year.

This year his only action so far came in Adelaide, where he took pole position for an Australian GT race in March.

He is due to race in this weekend's ADAC Procar round at Spa in a Team Engstler BMW prior to Brno.
