James Walker
After winning the title with Adrian Valles in 2010, in comes Walker - a winner with Borussia Dortmund in season one. Off the back of fifth in last year's Formula Renault 3.5 Series, the Channel Islander should be straight on the pace with well-honed David Hayle-run ATECH (nee Hitech Junior) squad, which is based just across the road from Silverstone in the Technology Park.
He's only started in two Superleague weekends before, both in season one, but expect Walker to get up to speed quickly. Whether that will be quick enough to retain the title is down to him and the team.

Borja Garcia
The Portuguese scored an unlikely victory with former saloon racer Pedro Petiz at Monza last year in club's first season in the series. He has gone, replaced by former GP2 racer Garcia. He once enraged series competitions chief Robin Webb by blowing the clutch on a demonstration run in the prototype, but ingratiated himself back into the fold in time to score a victory in the opening round in 2008 at Donington for Sevilla.
After a year in the United States in Formula Atlantic, he's back with Lisbon, whose car has Reid Motorsport taking over its reins in the pits.

Yelmer Buurman
One of giants of European football has been a little sleepy in recent times. Milan registered a single win last year with Giorgio Pantano, after Robert Doornbos scored a brace of victories in season one.
New driver Buurman scored two wins for Anderlecht last year and also netted for PSV Eindhoven in season one, putting him third in all-time series wins. ATECH takes over car duties from Azerti, which should bolster its chances. If there's a second-favourite to the Tottenham/Dolby combo, this is it.

Tristan Gommendy
The Turkish club won the last main race of 2009 and will harbour big hopes for the year ahead after signing Gommendy from Porto. He has won a race per season so far and will at least need to keep that ratio going.
On his day, he can be utterly brilliant, but at other times he looks like he's making up the numbers. Also prone to the odd moment of madness, such as pitting in the middle of his head-to-head qualifying lap after his rival had spun! Barazi-Epsilon take over the running of the car.

Narain Karthikeyan
After a race-winning opening season, PSV struggled to make any impression last year with a succession of Dutch drivers, so it's all change: in comes Jan Lammers' Racing for Holland outfit and another refugee from A1GP, Narain Karthikeyan.
Both will be on a steep learning curve initially, but have serious pedigree and could shine brightly. How Karthikeyan's dual NASCAR Truck Series campaign will dovetail is intriguing. But it's another ex-F1 driver on the grid, which is no bad thing.

Duncan Tappy
With Enrique Bernoldi seemingly pursuing a career in World GTs (although he walked out on the Matech team at the first test!), in comes Duncan Tappy, who drove for Spurs in season one. Former GP2 squad Durango has been given control of the Brazilian club's car, after it (like Tappy) flitted between a couple of teams last year.
Former Formula Renault champion Tappy is a safe pair of hands and has good knowledge of the car. He deserves another crack at this level, but one feels he needs a good result early on to retain his seat.

Davide Rigon
Inaugural champ with Beijing Guoan (that seems a long time ago now!) is back with a full-time seat with Anderlecht, replacing AC Milan-bound Buurman. Rigon is a solid rather than spectacular pedaller, who could be well suited to the extra races of the expanded calendar.
Has three wins to his name during his Superleague career, but has failed to shine in other categories. Will be interesting to see if he can return to winning ways, as Azerti takes over the running of this car from Zakspeed.

Chris van der Drift
The most successful club in Greek football history has signed part Dutch/part Kiwi van der Drift. The former Formula Master champion graduates from FRenault 3.5, as well as A1GP and GP2 Asia outings, so shouldn't take too long to adapt to the one-make racer.
Esteban Guerrieri scored the club's first win at Estoril last year. GU Racing has been one of the success stories of Superleague, and if it can match the pace of its Basel car, this entry should be a podium contender too.

Max Wissel
Finally out of his teens, this precocious German youngster, who has raced with the GU squad since Formula BMW in 2006, has already got 26 Superleague starts under his belt and won at Donington Park last year.
Expect him to be a factor in this year's title fight if his rate of progression continues, and he's well respected by his peers despite his tender years.

Robert Doornbos
After a year away in IndyCar, Doornbos returns to Superleague with this Brazilian superclub. He takes over from fellow ex-F1 racer Antonio Pizzonia, who somehow failed to win a race for the club from 25 starts and a hatful of poles!
Doornbos won twice for AC Milan in season one; Azerti takes over car from Alan Docking Racing.

Maria de Villota
The Spanish female will contest most of the season, but not the opener at Silverstone we're told. She looked a little out of her depth early on last year, but then got to grips with the powerful machine after a little while and scored a decent finish in the Jarama finale. Durango to run this car, too.

Alvaro Parente
His Superleague record reads one race weekend, one win. A top-class performer, who's so laid-back he's almost horizontal out of the car. But in it, he's the equal of anyone else on the entry list, and it would have been a travesty if he'd had to sit the season out after his Virgin F1 reserve driver role fell through.
In other news, Portuguese giants switched from ATECH to Reid Motorsport over the winter.

Marcos Martinez
A proven race winner in Formula Renault 3.5, and an occasional GP2 starter, this cheery Spaniard's FR3.5 season disappeared down the pan in the second half of last year. Switching to Superleague is probably a good career move, although De Villota squad is new to the series too. Could take the new pairing some time to get up to speed.

Craig Dolby
Watching Dolby is often worth the price of admission alone and he continues in the Spurs hotseat for the second season. With the stability of Docking continuing to run the car, he starts as pre-season favourite after last year's runner-up spot to Valles/Liverpool.
He's got a lot of strings to his bow, especially when it comes to overtaking in the reversed-grid race, but jury is out over his consistency in qualifying. Glory, glory Tottenham Hotspur?

Julien Jousse
Fiery Frenchman Jousse finished on the podium in his first-ever Superleague race at Monza last year, and was also on the pace at Jarama, before taking out one of his team-mates! Roma has passed the running of its car around, landing with De Villota Motorsport this time. Expect him to be there or thereabouts.

Franck Montagny
New clubs and new drivers are always exciting, but Montagny will add an extra touch of class to the series. He's not really seen through a full-time season since his World Series by Nissan title year in 2003, but he's raced in Formula 1, Le Mans prototypes, Champ Car and IndyCar. A top performer, with a stellar pedigree and a bubbly personality. He should be a massive hit.

Sebastien Bourdais
After a hugely successful initiation in the second half of last year with Sevilla, with two wins from eight starts, Bourdais transfers to Lyon for his first full season since his ignominious exit from F1 with Toro Rosso halfway through last year.
His mood lightened straight away after his grumpy F1 persona, and his Champ Car-honed skills quickly came to the fore. Laurent Redon's team will be key to whether he continues to shine, however.
TBC (Alan Docking Racing)
John Martin
Martin and a Docking-run car will be on the grid at Silverstone, but which club's colours he'll be carrying is anyone's guess. Possibly an Australian club, but it's all tied in to the politics of the 12th race.
Martin's a good little pedaller and is well capable of adding to his victory at Donington last season - especially given the continuity of 'the Doc' running his car.
