Schwantz waiting for Suzuki decision
Former world champion Kevin Schwantz is awaiting a decision from Suzuki about whether he can have a role in the Japanese bike manufacturer's future MotoGP plans
The American has been at the centre of speculation about a full-time return to the sport, having spent a lot of time with Rizla Suzuki at the French Grand Prix last month.
Rumours have suggested he could have an involvement with a possible new Aspar team, who have been linked with a step up to MotoGP next year.
In a statement on his official website, Schwantz insisted that nothing was agreed yet, though.
"There have been many rumours about my future plans that I would like to clarify," said Schwantz.
"My entire career was spent in MotoGP and I have the desire to return at a management level.
"I have expressed my desire to Suzuki and am waiting to hear what opportunities there may be. Until I receive confirmation from Suzuki Motor Corporation as to when-where-and-how, it is all speculation."
Schwantz is due to attend next weekend's Dutch Grand Prix in his role as television pundit for American channel CBS Sports.
