Marc Marquez: Mugello crashes no setback ahead of MotoGP Barcelona

Marc Marquez insists his crash-strewn MotoGP weekend at Mugello will not affect him heading into this weekend's Catalunya Grand Prix

The Spaniard crashed several times over the Italian weekend, including a fall while second in the race and a violent high-speed off in second practice.

He initially had trouble lifting and moving his arm, but it was later confirmed he had escaped with 'minimal' injuries.

Marquez says that diagnosis helped put his mind at ease, and is adamant his string of offs will not affect him physically or mentally this weekend.

"After crashing out in Mugello I really can't wait to get back on the bike at my home GP in Montmelo," Marquez said.

"I am more relaxed after seeing Dr. [Xavier] Mir last week and he confirmed there are no complications with my injuries.

"I am on my way to feeling 100 per cent again.

"We will keep to our own programme [at Barcelona], work hard and try our best.

"[It is] another track where all the other riders have much more experience than me, and they will be extra tough to beat."

Barcelona was one of the few circuits Marquez failed to win on during his two-year spell in Moto2, although he qualified on pole in 2012 and never finished lower than third.

After his Mugello crash he currently lies third in the championship, 26 points off team-mate and points leader Dani Pedrosa.
