Quick shoutout to Brad Binder and Luca Marini, who recovered from poor starting positions to grab ninth and 10th
It was a tough race for his brother Marc Marquez, who has to settle for seventh
The younger Marquez, however, is again the best Ducati rider at Silverstone, as he bags a solid fourth
Jorge Martin crossed the finish line in second, while Marco Bezzecchi holds off a late attack from Alex Marquez to complete another 1-2-3 for Aprilia!
Victory #2!
Raul Fernandez takes the chequered flag to win the British Grand Prix! What a fine performance from the Spaniard, who has to be considered a bona fide title contender now!
Trackhouse boss Justin Marks in in attendance and he is about to watch his rider Raul Fernandez claim a sensational win in front of his eyes
Bezzecchi is doing everything he can to hold off Alex Marquez in the battle for the final spot on the podium.
Meanwhile, di Giannantonio has passed Marquez for sixth
WIth five laps to run, Fernandez is leading comfortably from Martin, but Bezzecchi is coming under pressure from Alex Marquez again
Alex Marquez is through on Pedro Acosta, who is now coming under pressure from Mar Marquez
Replays show Alex Marquez having a major scare at Copse and running off the track. He still appears quick and is already eyeing a move on Acosta
More drama! Alex Marquez has suddenly dropped behind both Bezzecchi and Acosta into fifth. We are unsure what happened to him
It's a race of attrition! Ai Ogura goes down just before the halfway point. This is his first big mistake of 2026!
And as expected, Alex Marquez eases past Marco Bezzecchi at Stowe, snatching third place
An Aprilia podium lockout is not a given. Alex Marquez has been able to keep his hard rear alive and is chasing Bezzecchi for third
Martin has finally found a way past Bezzecchi. He is up to P2, but with Fernandez already 4.5s, this might be the maximum he could achieve today
We are seeing crashes every lap. Francesco Bagnaia is the next one to go down, bringing a tough weekend to a premature end
It's a double DNF for home hero Cal Crutchlow. He falls off his Honda at Brooklands
Martin runs deep at Abbey while chasing Bezzecchi. No major damage but he has dropped half a second behind his team-mate
Acosta makes a brave move on Marquez into Copse. He is up to fifth now
Enea Bastianini has crashed out of the race
Fernandez is checking out. His new lead has now ballooned to three seconds. It's been an impressive comeback from a crash in Saturday's sprint
Watch out for Alex Marquez. He has just passed Acosta to grab fifth. His next target: reigning champion and brother Marc!
Just to confirm, the entire field is on the hard front and the medium rear
Meanwhile, Fernandez is flying on the Trackhouse Aprilia. He is already two seconds clear of the chasing pack, led by Bezzecchi.
Ogura's race is going from bad to worse. He has now dropped to seventh, behind Acosta and Alex MarQUEZ
Order at the start of lap 2
- Fernandez
- Bezzecchi +1.1s
- Martin
- M Marquez
- Ogura
- Acosta
- A Marquez
- Di Giannantonio
- Morbidelli
- Quartararo
Martin initially dropped to fourth behind Marquez, has repassed the Ducati rider to claim third behind Fernandez and team-mate Bezzecchi.
Ogura is now fifth
Raul Fernandez gets the holeshot from second position while Jorge Martin has slipped down the order, seemingly with a stuck ride height device
And the British GP is go!
And the formation lap is under way. We are about to go racing in Silverstone shortly
For context, those numbers are up on last year but still down on 2024.
But both MotoGP and Silverstone are investing to promote the championship in the UK, having announced a new two-year deal until the end of 2028 in the build-up to this weekend
Here are the attendance figures for the British GP weekend
Friday: 27,137
Saturday: 35,663
Sunday: 43,085
Total: 105,885
Five minutes until formation lap
It would be interesting to see if anyone dares to use the soft rear tyre, given how much graining riders reported in the sprint. We are still waiting for Michelin to reveal the final tyre choices, but at the moment, everyone has opted for the medium rear

One rider in focus this weekend is Marco Bezzecchi. The Italian was both physically and mentally down after four brutal race weekends across June and July. But despite struggling with pain and lack of mobility, he was able to qualify on the second row of the grid and claim a podium yesterday.
However, can he maintain his pace over a grand prix distance today?
