125cc: Talmacsi retains pole at Misano

Gabor Talmacsi retained pole position - his third consecutive one - at Misano ahead of tomorrow's 125cc San Marino Grand Prix

The reigning champion from Hungary improved on the provisional pole he set yesterday by over four tenths of a second, to end up with a final time of 1:43.729.

With the 30-minute session already expired, Briton Bradley Smith snatched second on the grid, less than two tenths behind the other Aprilia of Talmacsi, and pushed down to third Derbi's Pol Espargaro, who had just managed his best lap a few seconds earlier.

Scott Redding (Aprilia), second in yesterday's session, was unable to improve his time today and had to settle for fourth, the last slot on the front row.

The second row will be headed by Aprilia's Simone Corsi, followed by championship leader Mike di Meglio on Derbi, Sandro Cortese on Aprilia, and Marc Marquez on the leading KTM.

The third row will see Nicolas Terol (Aprilia) starting from the ninth slot of the grid, ahead of Joan Olive on Derbi and the Aprilias of Stefan Bradl and Sergio Gadea.
