125cc: Talmacsi grabs Valencia pole

Former champion Gabor Talmacsi took his fourth pole position of the year ahead of tomorrow's 125cc Valencia Grand Prix

After yesterday's rain, today's session was held in dry weather, meaning that the times set in first qualifying were beaten immediately.

Aspar's Talmacsi, leading a pack of six Aprilias in the top six positions, set a time of 1:41.451 as the 30-minute session's clock had already expired, to pip Jack&Jones's Nicolas Terol.

Terol was then also beaten by Sergio Gadea on the other Aspar bike and Simone Corsi on the second Jack&Jones.

Polaris's Bradley Smith will lead the second row of the grid ahead of Degraaf's Stevie Bonsey, newly-crowned champion Mike di Meglio on the Ajo Derbi, and Andrea Iannone on the I.C. Aprilia.

Ajo Derbi's Dominique Aegerter will start ninth, with Stefan Bradl completing the top ten with his Kiefer Aprilia.

With 18 minutes of the session remaining, Pol Espargaro lost control of his Belson Derbi's on the kerbs at the exit of turn one, wobbled and crashed hard on the tarmac.

The young Spaniard laid on the ground until he was carried off the track on a stretcher as the red flag was then shown for five minutes.
