Moto2: Bautista snatches provisional pole
Alvaro Bautista snatched provisional pole position for the 250cc round at Donington Park this weekend with a stunning last gasp effort
Marco Simoncelli topped the timesheet throughout the session, but Bautista pulled out something special on his last lap to squeeze ahead by two tenths of a second, finding six tenths over his previous best time.
Simoncelli remained second after steadily improving his time throughout the session, with Hector Barbera third, after being first up to speed early in the session, and Thomas Luthi fourth.
Japanese pairing Yuki Takahashi and Hiroshi Aoyama complete the top six, while championship leader Mika Kallio could only manage 14th.
