Montagny to test with AGR next week
Franck Montagny will test an IndyCar for the first time with Andretti Green Racing at Kentucky on Monday
The Frenchman drives for AGR in the American Le Mans Series but is looking to return to single-seaters after the reunification of Champ Car and the IRL left him without a drive this season.
He was set to drive for Forsythe in Champ Car this year and raced in the final event of the series at Long Beach in April, but was forced to turn to sportscars when Forsythe did not enter the Indy Car series.
Montagny made several A1GP outings for Team France and was part of Peugeot's factory line-up for the Le Mans 24 Hours before joining AGR's ALMS squad in July.
Monday's test at the Kentucky Speedway will be his first experience of an oval and he is expected to follow it with a road course test later this year with a view to racing a fifth AGR entry in the IndyCar Series next season.
Andretti Green already have Tony Kanaan, Marco Andretti, Danica Patrick, and Hideki Mutoh under contract for next season.
