Fisher in for Buhl at Nazareth
Robbie Buhl will not race at this weekend's IRL race at Nazareth as he continues to recover from injuries sustained at Fontana last month
His place in the Team Purex G-Force-Infiniti will be taken by Sarah Fisher, who was voted the IRL's most popular driver in 2001.
"I am thrilled about driving an Indy Racing League car for Dreyer & Reinbold at Nazareth," said Fisher. "It is a privilege to drive such an awesome race car."
Buhl, who says he feels fit and fine, decided to miss the race to ensure that he's 100 percent ready for the Indy 500, which takes place next month.
"I have really been looking forward to getting back to Nazareth, but I want to ensure that my participation will not impede my contributions to our team later in the season," said Buhl. "While I'm prepared to get behind the wheel, Dennis (Reinbold) and I view this purely as business decision. We need to make the best judgement for our team, our sponsors and for our season-long goals."
Buhl added that if sufficient funding could be secured the team might run a second car for Fisher later in the year.
