United SportsCar 2015 calendar: Indianapolis round dropped
The United SportsCar Championship will not return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2015, with the iconic venue absent from next year's calendar when it was announced on Sunday

The USC had shared the NASCAR bill at Indianapolis this year, qualifying and racing on the Thursday and Friday of the event using the road course before the stock cars took precedence on the oval on Saturday and Sunday.
That format had been previously used by Grand-Am - which merged with the American Le Mans Series this year to create the USC - but the date has been dropped for 2015.
IMS president Doug Boles told the Indianapolis Star that the logistics of having the sportscar race on the weekdays before switching courses had proved impractical. But he added that the door was open for the USC to return on a different date after 2015.
"We certainly think sportscar racing has a future at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and I know [IMSA] will tell you the same thing," he said.
Although the USC will be racing at Lime Rock next year on the late-July weekend previously used for Indy, its flagship Prototype class will not be part of that round, which will be just for PC and GTD.
The Prototypes will also be absent from the August event at Virginia International Raceway, as is the case on the 2014 calendar.
The Kansas Speedway event that ran for just the PC class this year has been ditched.
Next year's USC will again begin with the Daytona 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours, and end with Petit Le Mans.
