Nico Hulkenberg is flying in the Force India, passing Webber to take fourth. The straight-line speed of the VJM05 has been hailed all season, and it's clear to see why.
Vettel is informed that the "data doesn't look too bad" on his car despite the damage to his car - and he's set the fastest lap running in P20, latching onto the rear of the pack.

...and to make matter worse for Vettel, Alonso is now up to P3 for Ferrari! He passes both Massa and Webber into Turn 1. As things now stand, he will become world champion today.

Hamilton pulls into pole position with Button alongside him. There’s a long wait for those at the lower-reaches of the grid to form up, but we’re ready to race!

Both Alonso and Vettel struggled in qualifying on Saturday. Vettel is only fourth on the grid after his mistake at the start of Q3, while Alonso - who has just one top-four start since taking pole for the German Grand Prix in July - is way down in seventh.

So who needs what for the title decider? Here are the permutations...
VETTEL IS CHAMPION IF:
- He finishes fourth or higher
- Alonso fails to finish in the top three
ALONSO IS CHAMPION IF:
- He wins the race and Vettel is fifth or lower
- He finishes second and Vettel is eighth or lower
- He finishes third and Vettel is 10th or lower

Alonso was 40 points clear in the standings after the summer break, but a dramatic turnaround in form saw him lose his advantage to Vettel. The Red Bull driver took four straight wins to catapult himself into the championship lead, meaning he stands 13 points clear arriving at Interlagos.
But we’re now geared up for the 2012 F1 championship showdown. For the first time since 2008, Interlagos will host a title decider as both Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso bid for their third crowns.
