Weaver, Dyson win at Watkins Glen
Briton James Weaver and his team-mate Chris Dyson scored a dominant win in the Watkins Glen Six Hours on Sunday in their Riley & Scott
Butch Leitzinger in the sister Dyson-entered car took pole position and built a lead over Weaver in the early stages of the Gr. But when team boss Rob Dyson took over, the car hit trouble.
Power steering fluids began to leak into the cockpit and Dyson was forced to pit. Eventually, it was decided to retire the car from the race.
That left Weaver and Dyson's son, Chris, with the race in the bag. Their chief rival, the Doran Lista Racing Dallara, was held up by problems with its new 5-litre Judd engine and finished way down in 23rd.
The Miracle Motorsports R&S also suffered problems, allowing Rand Racing's Nissan-powered Lola of Ralf Kelleners, Anthony Lazzaro and Terry Borcheller to finish second overall, first in the SRII class, two laps down on Weaver and Dyson.
Cort Wagner and Bill Auberlen claimed GT honours in the Ferrari of Washington 360, Rob and Charles Morgan won AGT in their Corvette, while Jack and Keith Lewis took GTS in their Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.
