Mowlem joins Orbit for Le Mans and Mexico
American Porsche squad Orbit Racing has signed Britain's Johnny Mowlem to drive in the Le Mans 24 Hours and Mexico City American Le Mans Series events
Autosport.com columnist Mowlem, who finished second in last month's Daytona 24 Hours, has joined Orbit's Porsche 911 squad for the two races in a deal brokered by Porsche North America.
"I'm delighted to be asked to be a part of another frontrunning ALMS team," said Mowlem. "I'm also very grateful to Leo Hindery and Peter Baron for the opportunity to go to both Mexico and Le Mans with a very realistic chance of a podium."
Mowlem will contest the other rounds of the ALMS with Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing. His next event is the Sebring 12 Hours, where will drive a 911 GT3 RS with Sweden's Nic Jonsson and California's Craig Stanton.
Michael Petersen, co-owner of the team, said: "With Johnny and the addition of Craig Stanton and Nic Jonsson, I feel that our chance at a podium finish is very good and we are all looking forward to the 12 Hours."
