Le Mans 24 Hours entry list released
Entries for the 69th 24 Hours of Le Mans were announced today (Wednesday), and while there were no major surprises in the top categories for the endurance classic, British teams are well represented, with the two Bentley entries being the highest profile of the UK-based outfits
MG has had its two-car entry confirmed in the LMP675 class but the Lola-built cars will find themselves up against a surprise first time entry from Rowan Racing. The Formula 3 team is new to this level of sportscar racing but the Birmingham-based outfit has been allowed to enter a single Pilbeam-Nissan. The La Sarthe race will welcome a second British newcomer this year in the shape of the PK Sport team, which has entered one of the 10 Porches in the GT category.
The battle for honours in the GTS class promises to be closely fought with two Chevrolets pitted against four Chryslers and four Saleens. Notably, Ray Mallock Ltd, which built the all-new Saleen, will not be racing under the Ecurie Ecosse livery due to a lack of Scottish sponsorship.
