Hughes set for Barcelona race

MG Le Mans driver Warren Hughes is set to make his FIA Sportscar Championship debut at Barcelona next weekend alongside his manager Bob Berridge in a Judd-powered Lola B98/10.

Hughes, who will also be racing for MG in the British Touring Car Championship this weekend, will race the ex-DAMS car in Catalunya for the first round of the European series.

"Since I manage Warren it is a logical decision," said team owner and driver Berridge."Everyone knows how quick Warren is and I think we will have a very strong race in Spain. The car is ready to go and we will have the testing time immediately before the race to get a base set up and work from their."

Hughes is looking forward to the event. "It's a nice surprise to be racing with Bob in the Lola at Barcelona," he said. "I will not actually get to sit in it until Friday during testing but I think we can certainly mix it at the front."
