Harvick, Gordon and Sharp for Daytona

NASCAR Winston Cup Rookie of the Year Kevin Harvick will join fellow stock car stars Tony Stewart and Robby Gordon on the grid for this year's Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona

Harvick will drive a Flis Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette in the round-the-clock American sportscar classic, alongside Dave Liniger and ARCA racers Rick Carelli and John Metcalf.

"Racing in the Rolex 24 is something I've never done in my career," said Harvick. "I've watched it over the years on the couch, waiting for racing to get started, so it'll be pretty neat to kick off my season a week early. Plus it'll be cool to add to my resume."

Another Winston Cup star to have signed up is final round winner Robby Gordon. He will join former Indy Racing League champion Scott Sharp in a Riley & Scott Mk3C run by Jim Matthews Racing, also partnering Britain's Guy Smith and team boss Matthews.

Gordon won the GTO/GTS class at Daytona with Roush Racing from 1990 to '93.

"I've been on the top step of the podium in every Rolex 24 I've competed in," said Gordon. "Returning with Riley & Scott and Jim Matthews Racing is a fantastic opportunity to continue that streak."

Another former winner, and this year's Indy 500 pole man, Sharp said: "I'm very excited to get a chance to win at Daytona again."

The event is held on February 2-3.
