FIA GTs: Campbell-Walter on pole
Joint FIA GT Championship points leader Jamie Campbell-Walter claimed pole position for round six of the FIA GT championship in the Lister Storm he shares with Nicolaus Springer. He set a time of 1m24.992s on his superpole lap to claim his fourth pole of 2002 despite a couple of minor mistakes
Campbell-Walter pipped Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 Maranello driver Andrea Piccini, a former F3000 front-runner, into second place a little under 0.2s as he bids for his second FIA GT championship crown.
The second row will be filled by the Chrysler Viper GTS-Rs piloted by Fabrizio Gollin and Vincent Vosse, with another brace of Vipers, this time drive by Christophe Bouchut and Mike Hezemans, on the row behind.
N-GT class honours fell to the Freisinger Porsche car in the hands of Sascha Maassen in tenth place overall.
