Erdos set for Daytona debut
British-based Brazilian Thomas Erdos is set to make his debut at the Daytona 24-hours this weekend after securing a last-minute drive in a Graham Nash Motorsport Saleen S7R
Erdos, who will drive an S7R in this year's British GT championship for Nash, was planning to make the trip over the States, but thought he'd only be going to support the team.
"I expected to spend my time in the garage or on the pitwall," he said. "All credit to Graham (Nash) for putting the deal together. I'm delighted to be in the car, and it's great to be driving so soon. I don't think a season has started so well ever before, so I'm really looking forward to the year ahead."
Erdos will share the car with Ian McKellar jnr at the first high profile motor race of the year. Over 80 cars are expected to take the start, so it promises to be something of a culture shock for Erdos who spent last season campaigning a Lexus in the BTCC.
"I'll miss the BTCC," he admitted, "but it's good to be back on the international stage again."
