Bobbi quickest in Dubai

Matteo Bobbi steered the BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 Maranello he shares with Gabriele Gardel to pole position in the second of two qualifying sessions for the penultimate FIA GT Championship race at Dubai

Second and third on the grid will be the two Maserati MC12s, with the Johnny Herbert/Fabrizio de Simone car qualifying slightly better than its sister in the hands of Andrea Bertolini and Mika Salo, which was one of few cars that did not improve in the generally quicker second session, having topped the times in the first.

Gianni Morbidelli and Fabio Babini set the fourth best time in their GPC Giesse Ferrari 575 Maranello ahead of a phalanx of Saleen S7s, headed by the Paulo Ruberti/Gabriele Lancieri/Rocky Agusta Graham Nash Motorsport car.

Luca Cappellari and Fabrizio Gollin, who have already clinched the championship title, were only 16th quickest in their BMS Scuderia Italia 550, just three places ahead of the top N GT class car - the GPC Giesse Ferrari 360 Modena of Christian Pescatori and Jaime Melo.
