Biela inherits Sebring pole
Bentley's hopes of taking victory in the Sebring 12 Hours have suffered a massive blow, after both of its Speed 8 cars had their qualifying times disallowed due to technical infractions. Frank Biela has inherited the pole for the Joest Audi team
Briton Johnny Herbert had claimed the pole for Bentley, with Rinaldo Capello completing a sweep of the front row for the British marque.
However, both cars had their laps disallowed after ALMS officials found that the rear diffusers of the cars did not conform to height rules, giving the pole to Biela. The two Bentleys will now start from 53rd and 54th on the Sebring grid.
It means that the German has now claimed pole at Sebring for the third time in four years.
