AF Corse takes Spa 24 Hours pole

Ferrari will start this year's Spa 24 Hours from pole after AF Corse's Gianmaria Bruni was quickest in last night's qualifying session

The best GT2, GT3 and National-specification cars proved evenly matched on the dry track and the leading times were set around 10pm.

Ex-Formula 1 racer Bruni, who will share with Bert Longin, Eric van de Poele and Toni Vilander, took pole with a lap of 2m22.403s. Dirk Werner's GTN class BMW M3 immediately responded but missed out by less than 0.2 seconds.

The GT3 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMSs, which proved fast in the wet earlier during the week, were also in contention. Marcel Fassler recorded the best time, with 2m22.807s, while Andrea Piccini was two tenths behind as Audi locked out the second row.

Peter Kox was fifth quickest in another GT3 machine, the #84 Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo, just ahead of the second BMW M3.

The fastest Porsche, and second in GT2, was the IMSA Performance 911 of Raymond Narac, Patricks Long and Pilet, and Richard Lietz. Its best was 2m23.960s for seventh overall.
