Ara to drive Swiss Racing Nissan
Former Le Mans 24 Hours winner Seiji Ara has signed for the Swiss Racing Team to race in the new FIA GT World Championship
The 35-year-old Japanese driver will share a Nissan GT-R with Swedish driver Max Nilsson.
The team's managing director Othmar Welti said: "Seiji Ara is a powerful asset for the team. He is a strong driver with great experience and a proven track record.
"I am particularly happy that one of our Nissan GT-R's will be driven by a Japanese pilot. He is a dedicated team player and we are glad that he is part of our team."
Ara has been a regular in Japanese Super GT for much of the past decade and last year raced for Kondo Racing, scoring a win in the first round at Aida. He also rejoined Team Goh for Le Mans in 2009, driving an LMP2 Porsche RS Spyder which he crashed out of second place in class in the 23rd hour.
