IMSA Porsche crashes out of GT2 lead

Porsche's chances of success in the GT2 class at the Spa 24 Hours have been severely dented by a crash for the leading 911

The IMSA Performance car had led the category for much of the first quarter of the race. The two AF Corse Ferrari 430s jumped the squad the fifth-hour pitstops, but Raymond Narac was within seconds of the pair when he crashed in the sixth hour.

The car received front and rear damage, including broken radiators. Narac made it back to the pits for repairs, but the car has now fallen from contention.

IMSA driver Patrick Long, who has also injured his left hand getting out of the team's truck, said: "It's been good, and this is unfortunate. It's quite a setback, but you never know what can happen."

The leading 911s are now the Brixia Racing and #60 Prospeed examples, currently fighting over third. They are nearly a minute and a half behind the leading #50 AF Corse Ferrari, currently being driven by Luis Perez Companc.
