Turner: Nissan will not fight Ford

The new-generation GT1 car has never competed in a twice round-the-clock enduro before, and Turner believes a finish is the most important target.

"The aim is to get the car to the end - that's the priority," said former Le Mans GT1 winner, who will share the GT-R with ex-Formula 1 racer Anthony Davidson and the experienced Michael Krumm.

"It's a testing programme during a race weekend. That can only help us with solving problems and making it a competitive car for next year.

"We've got to keep the emotion out of it and keep away from trouble."

The only other 2010-spec car is the Marc VDS Racing Team Ford GT, which will start two places ahead of the Nissan in sixth.

Turner believes a good finish is possible, but confirmed the team's plans would not be affected by the Ford.

"It is our competition, but the race is more about the mileage," he said.

"If we finish in the top 10 that would be a very good result for the team and show the car has pace and reliability."
