Maseratis pull further away at Spa
The two Vitaphone Maseratis continued to lead the 24 Hours of Spa throughout the night, but are running just 20 seconds apart this morning
The No.1 car of Andrea Bertolini, Michael Bartels, Stephane Sarrazin, and Eric van der Poele has held the lead most of the way, but the No.2 car of Xandi Negrao, Miguel Ramos, Alessandro Pier Guidi, and Stephane Lemeret has also had spells up front.
The two cars have gradually edged further away from the Gigawave Aston Martin, which maintained its third place throughout the night and is currently four laps down with Philipp Peter behind the wheel.
The No.6 Phoenix Corvette hasn't made up any further time since being involved in the accident that removed the Jetalliance Aston Martin from the race yesterday evening. Jean-Denis Deletraz is on board and still seven laps behind the leader.
The Spartak Racing Lamborghini Murcielago dropped from fourth to 11th place with a gearbox problem during the early hours. Peter Kox is now driving and is 32 laps down.
The GT2 battle is still close, with the BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari less than a minute ahead of the No.61 Prospeed Porsche. Paolo Ruberti is aboard the Ferrari and edging slowly away from Emmanuel Collard in the Porsche.
The first of the AF Corse Ferraris is third in class, three laps behind the leaders, with Mika Salo currently in the No.50 car.
