Zanardi visits CART opener
A popular visitor at Homestead this weekend is former double CART champion Alex Zanardi and his wife Daniela. Zanardi held a press conference at the end of the day and said he has no plans to race a Champ car this year, although he didn't rule out the possibility for the future
"Right now, I haven't made any decision because I haven't been thinking about it," Zanardi said. "It's not even a question at the moment. I'm here to see many old friends and it's a great feeling to come into a paddock and see so many people who are happy to see you."
He was asked directly if he had an agreement to drive for a CART team later in the year. "No, I don't have a deal, not at all," Zanardi said.
"I'm sure if I was looking for one, I'm sure some people would be talking to me, but I'm just here to enjoy my friends and hoping to see a good race. That's why I'm here."
