Toyota Renews Long Beach Deal
Toyota has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Grand Prix of Long Beach to continue being the race's title sponsor
Despite announcing its withdrawal from the IRL at the end of 2006, Toyota has signed a new five-year agreement with Long Beach. The Japanese carmaker has been title sponsor of the event since 1980.
"Toyota is proud to continue our relationship with one of America's premier motorsports events," said Les Unger, Toyota national motorsports manager.
"The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is believed to be the longest running motorsports title sponsorship in this country, and we are enthusiastic to continue to be a part of such a great event."
The extension ensures that Toyota's deal with Long Beach will continue through 2010.
"We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with Toyota Motor Sales and the Southern California Toyota Dealers Association," said Jim Michaelian, CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach.
"They have been an extraordinary partner in our event from the very beginning, and we look forward to extending this relationship to new heights in the coming years."
