Servia to See Out Season
Newman-Haas have confirmed that Oriol Servia will see out the season with them this year, having originally been brought in as a temporary replacement for the injured Bruno Junqueira
The announcement means that Servia has a real chance of securing the runners-up place in the Champ Car World Series title chase behind Sebastian Bourdais. He is currently 67 points behind his French teammate with two races to go, and holds a 27 points advantage over Paul Tracy.
Speaking about the news, Servia said: "I'm very satisfied with the team's decision to keep me on the car until the end of the season. I see it as the consequence of a job well done.
"We must now stay on the same path and not concede anything in order to achieve our priority of placing both Newman/Haas cars in the top-two positions in the championship."
Servia's confirmation at the team means there is a possibility they could run a third car in the season finale in Mexico, with Junqueira confident that he will be fit to return before the end of the year following his crash in the Indy 500.
