Rice, Herta to race at Daytona 24
Indy Racing League race winners Buddy Rice and Bryan Herta have become the latest names to sign up to the Daytona 24 hours later this month
The US duo will team up with former Toyota Atlantic star Michael Valiante in a Finlay Motorsports, Daytona Prototype Ford in the road course endurance race at the speedway.
"I'm really comfortable with the driver line-up and feel that we will be able to challenge for victory," Herta said. "I enjoyed my experience in the race last year and look forward to getting back behind the wheel."
Rice and Herta will join a field already full of star names from American motorsport.
Former NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Kurt Busch, former Champ Car title winner Paul Tracy, Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon, Champ Car teammate Justin Wilson and AJ Allmendinger, and IRL race winner Dario Franchitti will all be on the grid.
NASCAR stars Tony Stewart, Bobby Labonte, Jimmie Johnson and Rusty Wallace are also expected to be part of the event, which is the showpiece race of the Rolex Grand AM sportscar series.
