Peugeot on top again in Sebring test

Peugeot continued their dominance of the ALMS test at Sebring this week, out-pacing Audi again in yesterday's sessions

Pedro Lamy set the fastest time, a 1:43.710 which, although it was four tenths of a second slower than Stephane Sarrazin's best time on Monday, was still 0.7 seconds quicker than anyone else and over two seconds faster than Dindo Capello in the Audi R10.

The official practice sessions for this weekend's Sebring 12 Hours begins today, and Capello knows it will be tough for the German marque to win the event for the ninth consecutive year.

"We are getting back to the great days of sportscar racing," he said. "With Peugeot in the race it will be a great battle between top-line manufacturers.

"Sebring puts great stress on the car, the tyres, the team, and the drivers. It will be demanding on all concerned and it's the perfect way to test all factors of the car and the team before Le Mans."

Marco Andretti set the second best time of Tuesday's test in the LMP2 Acura ARX-01b, ahead of Adrian Fernandez in his team's Acura.

Jan Magnussen topped the GT1 times for Corvette Racing, and Jaime Melo's Ferrari was best of the GT2 runners.
